As the new general manager of the Monroe Co. Toledo North KOA, it is my pleasure to welcome you back to one of Michigan's most fun and family-friendly getaway spots. Ray and Donna Crots are camping legends and I look forward to following in their amazing footsteps. With over 7 years of Recreational Adventures Co. (RAC) campground management experience, the last 3 years managing the Newburgh New York City KOA, I am up to the challenge!

This will also be the first year that this campground will be under the ownership of Recreational Adventures Co. (RAC). Based in the Black Hills of South Dakota, RAC is a family-owned and operated company with 30 years experience in providing the best in KOA camping adventures.

Since we arrived in Michigan, my wife Amy and I quickly learned that everyone knows and loves staying at this Michigan family campground. In 2009, you and your family can still reel in the big one in our fully stocked lake, relax on the manicured sandy beach, or take a turn in our double-loop waterslide. And we'll have lots of fun arts and crafts, games on the ball field, and themed weekends and activities.

And while we'll be keeping all of the amenities that have made this a great place to camp, we're also adding some exciting new ones. You'll enjoy taking in an evening movie on our new 16' inflatable outdoor screen and playing a game on our huge checker/chess board. Plus, you'll be able to stay in touch even better because we're expanding our free Wi-Fi service.

Amy and I are excited to be back in the Midwest where our family roots are - mine in South Dakota, Amy's in Minnesota - with the opportunity to raise our daughter Miley in Michigan where similar wholesome values exist. We look forward to getting to meet and know you this camping season on your vacation in Michigan and on your time off from life in Toledo and Detroit.

If there's one thing that we know about at the Monroe County Toledo North KOA, it's being green. After all, we're surrounded by beautiful trees, lakes, and a beautiful Michigan landscape.

We're dedicated to keeping our KOA as beautiful as it can be. That's why we use sturdy, yet biodegradable paper and plastics in our food service areas, and offer conveniently located recycling bins for our guests' use. In 2009, we've even taken it one step further, installing efficiency lighting throughout our campground.

By doing our part to keep our environment clean, the Monroe County Toledo North KOA will continue to be a beautiful adventure for you and your family for generations to come.
